FIRST RYED IPA
INDIA PALE ALE
Brewing a new IPA is like taking a car out for a test drive. You know you have found the right one when you come back for another spin. Sometimes the beer you brew is not the beer you intended. In this case, our IPA was fuller, spicier and higher in alcohol than we envisioned. That being said, the beer tastes so damn good, we couldn’t wait to get it out there for all to try. This was our first IPA, our first ride, if you will. The bet is you'll want another very soon.
One of two remaining original town commons in the US, Tarboro’s Town Common serves as the gateway to the 45-block Historic District. Lined with beautiful homes built between 1890 and 1910, it was established by Tarboro’s founding fathers in 1760. Originally designed for the common grazing of livestock, community outings and military drills, today it is used for yoga, picnics, birthday parties and the enjoyment of life. A very special place, we knew one of our beers should be named after it.
belgian-style dubble ale
Downtown Tarboro is one of our town’s greatest treasures. Main Street is lined with beautiful shops and lots and lots of native characters who speak to everyone and are always ready to tell a great story. We believe our Belgian-Dubbel style brew made with real Belgian candy sugar is one of TBC’s most special beers. Beautiful in color with lots of caramel character, it is enjoyed best with fun people and a great story.
Belgian-style Pale Ale
When TBC was only but a dream, one of the truly great women of Tarboro, affectionately known as Nana, wrote her granddaughter a check for the amount of the roof down payment. Nana was the lady who turned Tarboro’s first brewery into a reality. She died a few months later at the sweet age of 94. Part of celebrating Nana’s Roof is incorporating honey from Conetoe Family Life Center into the brew. We cannot think of anything that would make Nana happier. Cheers to Nana!
Salted Watermelon Goze Ale
On a hot Saturday in July, five friends gathered to cut, scoop, and puree 110 of the biggest watermelons you could ever imagine. That creative exploration began the journey to brewing the best-tasting seasonal beer we’ve ever had. A Salted Watermelon Sour is the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day, paired with a juicy burger or some buttermilk-soaked Fried Chicken. While those meats are certainly good eatin’, our motto for this truly great beer is “Drink Your Fruit!”
